Zarqa University Secures Erasmus Support for Climate Change Project

University received support from the European Union for a research project under the Erasmus program, specifically in the "Jean Monnet" category. The project is titled "The European Union's Experience in Addressing Climate Change."

The research team for the project includes Dr. Ashraf Shaqdan, Director of the International Cooperation Unit, and Prof. Dr. Omar Al-Makhzoumi, Dean of the Faculty of Law. The project aims to familiarize university students and the local community with the European Union's policies and systems related to climate change and its impacts. It also covers international agreements and the addressing of the causes of climate change. The project is expected to span three years.

The project will kick off by introducing two courses in the Engineering and Law Faculties. The first, in the Faculty of Engineering Technology, is titled "The European Union's Experience in Addressing Climate Change." The second, in the Faculty of Law, is titled "The Legal Experience of the European Union in Addressing Climate Change."

The research team expressed appreciation for the outstanding support provided by the university's administration, represented by Dr. Mahmoud Abu Shaera, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Zarqa Educational and Investment Company, and Prof. Dr. Nidal Al Ramahi, the University President, in supporting international project participation.
